Located on the Eastern coast of Africa, this country is home to many endangered and endemic animal species. Historically home to vast mangrove systems and forests, Mozambique’s mangroves have been largely destroyed.
Nearly seventy percent of Mozambique’s population live in rural areas. With over 45% of the population living below the poverty line, the people of Mozambique rely on its natural resources and forests.
We are working with Eden Reforestation Projects and local communities to restore, replant and protect vital forest systems in Mozambique.
On the southern tip of Mozambique, in close proximity to Maputo, we are helping to support mangrove restoration and reforestation. This provides essential stability against erosion and improve ocean and coral reef health.
